Creative direction, photography & photo editing, social media management, UX/UI design & dev, identity, branding, and custom WordPress theme for a Pittsburgh-based Black arts and culture magazine.
The Good Web Bundle was a collaboration between ThinkUp, Metafilter, NewsBlur, The Toast and MLKSHK. All five sites packaged yearly memberships or suggested donations together as a limited-time holiday bundle and ThinkUp's awesome Anil Dash asked me to design the one-page promotional site. Because the main goal was to drive sales and deliver one singular message ("The best of the web, for half the price"), I kept the format simple, user-friendly, approachable. The branding itself was where personality and distinctiveness could shine. The black, white, and hot pink color palette, the whimsical header font, and the logo--a play on the Run-D.M.C. logo (or, as Anil put it, "Christmas time in Hollis, Queens")--were all decisions made to that end.
Good Web Bundle was built on the Bootstrap framework in conjunction with Anil.
(As of the top of January 2015 the site was pared down to remove all calls to action and to explain that the package deal had expired.)
